The format of the seminar is as follows: the organizers either invite a lecturer to deliver a talk or receive a suggestion for a talk from a philosopher. In the latter case the suggestion is assessed and in case of approval is included and added to the schedule. The seminar is quite flexible with respect to philosophical topics and problems but there are some general requirements about the talk: the lecturer has to present a clear and original thesis, supported by arguments and introducing some portion of the relevant debate.

The seminar is co-organized by:

Philosophy of Science Dept. at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, IPhR

Epistemology and Ontology Dept. at at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, IPhR

3. 30 minutes discussion

Although the title of the seminar is contemporary philosophy any new and original contribution to non-contemporary problems and themes is most welcome.

Working language:

English. Part of the goal of the seminar is to help to form an active analytic philosophical community which works within the tradition of the Anglo-American Analytic Philosophy and that is why English is indispensable for the texts, the lectures and the discussions at the seminar.

All the talks would be collected either as abstracts, power point presentations or full texts and uploaded for reference on the website. Also, the talks will be recorded with a professional DVCPROHD camcorder and uploaded after suitable compression on this web site for both streaming video and download. At the end of the year an annual DVD with all the talks would be issued and sold at a minimal price.
